Shapley Matters
Head to Toe: Leggings, Marshall's; Top, Forever 21; Sandals, Marshall's.
Happy Friday! Can I just shout out a big thank you to whoever invented patterned leggings? This pair is thick enough to be worn as pants but are still super comfy, and the graphic tribal pattern makes them stylish. New favorite Friday outfit. I'm off on another adventure this weekend, what are you up to?

Office to Outing
In my last post I talked about easy summer dressing. The tough part, however, is figuring out what to wear for sweltering temps outside that also works in office A/C. I love a tied chambray button-up instead of a cardigan, and easily turn a demure dress into something a little more fun for post-work outings by tying at the side.

Dress for Summer
Head to Toe: Dress, Marshall's; Sandals and Purse, Target; Fedora, Payless.
One of the best parts of summer is the ability to throw on a sundress, slip into sandals and walk out the door looking put together. Plus with the humidity, my hair gets just the right amount of wave that I am unable to fake any other time of the year. And for the heat...I'm still loving it! I spent all weekend at the beach and finally got a tan. Happy Hump Day!

Easiest Summer Hairstyle...Ever
Head to Toe: Top, Marshall's; Shorts, Continuations Consignments; Headband, Wet Seal.
In the summer, there's nothing better than throwing up your hair and running out the door. Lucky for me, Mackenzie's sister Dee is a hair stylist so I always get first hand expert advice (Like, your hair is too fine for conditioner, ends only!). She discovered a lot of easy summer "up-do's" and this one is by far my favorite. Throw on any headband "hippie style," twist your hair and roll it back under the headband. I have layers in the front, and I love how they fall out here and there (although you can just twist strands and tuck them over and under the headband if you prefer them back). I wore this style all weekend through beach trips, nights out, everything!

Alive @ Five
Head to Toe: Dress, American Eagle; Earrings, stolen borrowed from Mom; Shoes, Target; Bag, Nine West via Marshall's; Bangles and Necklace, American Eagle.
Last night I piled onto the train with friends and went to Alive @ Five, a weekly summer event in Stamford, CT. They hire a different band every week; last night was The Wallflowers. I rocked a summery look for what was a really great summer night. Looking forward to many more to come!

Easy Rider
Head to Toe: T-Shirt and Shorts, Gap; Sneakers, Converse; Hat, Francesca's Collections; Necklace, American Eagle; Bike, Walmart.
Quick post today as I am still recovering from a whirlwind weekend visit to my family in Maryland. I've been enjoying the easy living of summer on my evenings and weekends, soaking up the heat and taking my bike for a spin. So my style has followed suit. Tied tees and straw hats it is!

The Rainy Season
Head to Toe: Crochet dress, Old Navy via Continuations Consignments; Rain Coat, Mossimo via Consignment; Sandals, Strawberry; Necklace, American Eagle.
It's been a busy, rainy week. I was stoked to find this dress and tiny floral print rain coat on a super-quick lunch break consignment visit. The tunic is perfect for a rainy day layered with a long tank and leggings, but I'm also imagining it as a cute beach cover up (much preferable). Happy Friday fashionistas!

The Maine Way
Head to Toe (Top Outfit): Blouse, Marshall's; Jeans, Gap; (Bottom Outfit) Dress, Thrifted; Chambray top, Marshall's; Sandals, Strawberry.
One of my favorite parts of summer is weekend adventures. This past one I went to Maine with Mackenzie and his parents; they have a beautiful place right on the beach. We squeezed a lot in - a visit to the "touristy" section, Old Orchard (I was looking for a spot to get henna, but it was super expensive!), a trip to Portland including a delicious breakfast and a flea market hunt, and of course plenty of walks on the beach and even a little bikini time. The weekend got me excited to return in July for a whole week's vacation. I love the locale's classic New England feel...If only I liked lobster!
