Sneaker Heads Will Be Like...

Head to Toe:  Sweater, Marshall's; Cardigan, Guess; Leggings, Charlotte Russe; Sneakers, Jordan.

My boyfriend is seriously into sneakers and always wanted to get me a pair of Jordans. I always told him not to because I would never wear them, but my new job has a more relaxed dress code so I finally relented. He got me these pink and blue beauties for Valentine's day (they are the IV's, which apparently is important to specify). I've had very specific instructions to only wear them on nice days and to return them to their box when I take them off. It's a lot of pressure for a pair of shoes, but I have to admit, they are cute.

Head to Toe: Trench, Banana Republic; Jeans, Delia's; Sweater, Gift; Boots, Frye; Necklace, Gap; Bag, Olivia + Joy via Marshall's.

Hooray for surviving Monday! It was almost warm enough yesterday to get away with wearing my trench instead of a puffer. It's been a long winter, and with February drawing to a close I'm getting anxious for a little reprieve. In any case, a sleek trench is one of my favorite pieces for early spring. Throw over leggings and a T for weekend shopping, and no one will be the wiser.

Ladies Only

Head to Toe: Shirt and Scarf, American Eagle; Sweater, Old Navy; Hat, American Eagle; Jeans, Delia's; Boots, Frye.

Welcome to my snowy, snowy world. Hope you are having a great weekend so far. Yesterday, I went bargain-hunting at our local outlets and found way too many bargains. My afternoon followed with a complete closet overhaul and bedroom cleaning (a necessary one if I wanted any hope of putting away my new purchases). Cliche as it may sound, it left me feeling cleansed.

Friday night Mackenzie and I went to the casino for a date night. I'm not a huge gambler, and the place was packed. Unable to find a spot somewhere together (we play roulette), I went to a "ladies only" section he knew about. I had a great time chatting with random strangers and cheering each other on at what we were calling "the diva table" (which so happened to be pink). There wasn't the tension or competitiveness you would find at a table of men. All in all, I lost five bucks and had a great time celebrating my inner "diva." Girl power!
Thanks to my mom for wading through two feet of snow to snap these pics!

Neon Trees

Head to Toe: Top, Gap; Sweater, American Eagle; Jeans, Gap; Hat, Gap; Bag, Olivia + Joy via Marshall's.

Lately I feel like I've hit that February slump. The excitement of the New Year is long gone and Spring still seems a world away. Rocking neon green may only be a marginal step in the right direction, but I'm determined to break these winter blues. I'm also thinking it will be good to get out of the house this weekend, in layers of course. How do you beat the winter blahs?

Head to Toe: Sweater, Forever 21; Cardigan, American Eagle; Jeans, Old Navy; Bag, Steve Madden via TJ Maxx; Necklace, American Eagle

Happy (very) belated hearts day! I used to always make homemade Valentines and sweets for the holiday but in recent years have neglected my tradition. I was determined to follow-through this year and made some conversation heart cookies to package with some real conversation hearts. I also made some music heart tags which turned out great. Martha probably won't be re-blogging my Valentines anytime soon, but I had fun making them and think the recipients were pleased (or at least nice enough to humor me). My mom, a master cake decorator, "whipped up" some cupcakes that put my cookies to shame, but both were equally tasty. I also had a great V-day dinner-and-a-movie date with hubs. Hope your Hearts Day was equally pink.

White All Over

Head to Toe: Jeans, Delia's; Boots, Hunter; Bag, Oliva + Joy via Marshall's; Hat and Scarf, Gap (Gift); Sweater, Loft (Gift).

It was a crazy weekend here in CT. Nemo dumped about three feet of snow on my town. Needless to say, there was lots of shoveling, magazine-reading and TV-watching involved (Mackenzie's sis had the first season of Homeland and I'm officially hooked). I'm sure all of you in colder climates are shaking your heads, but we've never seen so much snow around here. My poor pup is having trouble getting around, just like the rest of us (I opted to walk to work today). It's not all bad thoughI'm enjoying the guilt-free coziness of just hanging inside, baking and making Valentines. Another plus? I'm skipping out on the gym today after all that shoveling.

P.S. If you like my snow graffiti, put some water and food coloring in a spray bottle and paint the town!

Finding Nemo

Snow Day

If you're in New England this weekend, you're hunkering down and cozying up for this blizzard. I couldn't be more excited for a good dumping of the white stuff. It's been going strong all day (short day at the office!) and may make it to two feet by morning! What else to do but cuddle up with a hot drink and a good book (or the occasional SVU marathon). And why not look cute doing it? I'm going for comfy knits, like this look above. Stay warm!

Just another Wednesday

Head to Toe: Chambray button-down, Gap; Striped shirt, Thrifted; Vest, Loft; Jeggings, Old Navy; Boots, Target; Bag, Olivia + Joy via Marshall's.

Besides it being hump day (my favorite day of the work week besides Friday), I didn't think today was anything special. But then I learned it is also:
  • Digital Learning Day
  • Chopsticks Day
  • Lame Duck Day
  • Federal No Smoking Day
  • National Frozen Yogurt Day
So if you'll excuse me I have to go eat Chinese food and get 16 Handles for dessert.

Super B.

Head to Toe: Blazer, TJ Maxx; Shirt, Mind Code; Bag, Olivia + Joy via Marshall's.

Hello there! Is there anything better than a clearance rack tweed blazer with studs on it? Not in my book. Did everyone watch the Beyoncé concert Super Bowl on Sunday? I had a great time hanging out with friends and pretending that I cared about the game. I was "rooting" for the 49ers, but at least they put up a fight in the second half! (That's as much detail as you're getting for my game round-up.) But most importantly, B killed it and I was psyched to see the ladies of Destiny's Child on stage. My one complaint: whose idea was it to make the Super Bowl on a Sunday? Wasn't too happy to hear my alarm yesterday morning...

Life lately Instagrams: My never-ending cupcake obsession, juicing and Saturday morning bagels to name a few.

Case Study

Shih Tzu photobomb
Head to Toe: Sweater, Charlotte Russe; Cords, Marshall's; Boots, Frye; Bag, Olivia + Joy via Marshall's; Necklace, Anthropologie (Gift).

Happy Friday everyone! I'm sick of dark winter colors and brightening things up with some almost-neon. Plus it's officially February, so what better to rock than pink?

A couple of weeks ago I went on Ebay in search of a new phone case, hoping to score something for 99 cents or so from China (you know, the real high-quality ones?)... I instead ended up buying someones whole collection, twelve cases in total, for about $25. So now I've resolved to change my cases with my outfit because, why not?

Have a fabulous weekend!
