5 Stylish Dresses for Valentine's Day That Don't Try Too Hard

Head to Toe: Dress, Cupcakes & Cashmere // Coat, Opening Ceremony // Booties, Thursday Boots // Bag, vintage // Tights, MeMoi

While some have mixed feelings about Valentine's Day, I can't hate on a holiday that encourages eating chocolate and wearing my favorite color, pink. Years ago, I'd get crafty for the occasion and bake or create some little gift to give out. I remember making bookmarks with famous love letters once. Now that I'm adulting and all that, it's hard to find the time to get too creative, but I do enjoy having a nice dinner out with Sean. (I think I'll try and get some cupcakes made this year, as well.)

I also love the excuse to get a little more dressed up than I normally would to go out. This year, I'm loving a tight mid-length sweater dress with pink or red accents, like the one I'm wearing here. It's clingy and flattering in all the right places, despite horizontal stripe's reputation for widening. (Sorry I didn't get a shot without my coat, it's cold AF this week!) I'm including a few more looks below that have the right amount of festive flair without trying to hard—i.e. a fire engine red slip dress. How will you be celebrating hearts day?
