Head to Toe: Blouse, Marshall's // Jeans, Forever 21 // Jacket and booties, Target
There are three days and counting until Christmas. Woah! I did take some time to enjoy the season this weekend, however, and even baked some obscenely rich (but delicious) eggnog cookies...Diets can wait until after the New Year, right? I also tied a wreath to my Jeep and took some time to relax by our little tree. Now, I have two jam-packed work days before I head off to visit family for the holiday. We can make it my elves—just a half-week in the workshop!

All That Glitters
Head to Toe: Sweater, F21 via Continuations Consignments // Skirt, Marshall's // Necklace and headband, Francesca's // Boots, Frye
High five for Friday! And it's almost the holidays—so I'm getting sparklier and sparklier. It's down to the wire, but I finished my shopping and got all of my gifts wrapped last night. Happy weekend!

Power Pants
Head to Toe: Blouse, Marshall's // Vest, Loft // Pants, Gap // Heels, Payless
You know how some days you just need that outfit you feel great in? These slacks + heels combo is my go-to. They are super comfy and look chic without being overly dressy—just the confidence boost I needed for a busy work day.

Inspi(red)
Head to Toe: Blazer, TJ Maxx // Sweater, Thrifted // Jeans, Hollister // Heels, Payless
Yes, white jeans in December. Because rules were meant to be broken, right? And with a red blazer they feel festive for the season and can transition from work to cocktails in a snap. Check and check.

Top It Off
Head to Toe: Top and leggings, Marshall's // Sweater, F21 via Continuations Consignments // Beanie, American Apparel // Booties, Target
Okay, warm spell over. The first semi-real snowfall happened this morning, and it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! This is pretty typical of my go-to outfit these days—leggings + long sweater + cozy socks, and always a beanie. In case anyone is wondering what to get me for the holidays, I'm really looking to stock up on those babies. Can't go wrong with something that looks cute, keeps your head warm, and allows you not to wash your hair for several days. #Winning.

Hey there, fashionistas. Forgive my infrequent posting lately. I'll attribute some of it to the loss of daylight for photos, but it's also just me. I feel like I've been having a bit of a style identiy crisis lately. Perhaps in the far-and-few-between outfits I've posted you've noticed a change. I'm wearing less color, and less dresses and skirts in general (with the exception of these past few, as I had to take advantage of the warm spurt). I'm not sure if it's just the season or if my taste is really evolving. Or is it the haircut, which calls for a slightly edgier look? Some of it, I'll admit, can be attributed to rushed mornings where leggings and a tunic are the best I can muster up. Regardless, check out what I was wearing in December of last year. Seriously, style identity crisis! I can't figure out if I'm "maturing" or in a creative drought. HMMM.

Sequin Season
Head to Toe: Top, Loft // Skirt, BCBG // Boots, Steve Madden // Jacket, Target // Bag, Franco Sarto // Earrings, H&M
Bare legs...in December? I capitalized on a brief stretch of warmth last week by wearing this skirt + boots combo sans tights. I'm also excited that the time of year for all things sparkly has finally arrived. I dug all my sequined pieces—like this top—out of storage and blew the dust off of my rhinestoned pumps. Now all I need to do is run into Limited Too for roll-on glitter. Is roll-on glitter still a thing? Are there still Limited Too stores? Can I go back to being 12 again? I refuse to stop believing in Santa...

Giving Thanks
Head to Toe: Dress, Free People (thrifted) // Boots, Frye // Top, Urban Outfitters // Headband, Francesca's.
Happy [belated] Thanksgiving! This dress was Turkey Day–appropriate last year (see the post here), so I figured why not repeat it again. I enjoyed a pampered dinner out with my parents and lots of quality time by a cranking fire at their house. In so many ways, 2014 has probably been the most challenging year of my life, but as it's coming to an end, I have so much to be thankful for—particularly, my friends and family that supported me through the ups and downs. I can't be happier to have reached this season of celebration with a smile, and am looking forward to make a few more good memories as the year comes to a close.

Cold Snap
Head to Toe: Flannel and sweater, Thrifted // Skirt, J. Crew // Boots, Frye.
We New Englanders got a taste of winter this week (unlike the peeps in Buffalo, who got a full-fledged serving). With highs below 30, I was forced to dabble in my cold-weather wardrobe. Chunky wool sweaters like this one are super warm, and are honestly what get me through the season, fashion statements aside. For morning appointments in the city, I wanted to look pulled-together while battling the freeze so I swapped tights for leggings and paired with knee-high boots. Thankfully, the cold seems to be breaking...at least for now.

Brotherly Love

This past weekend I went to visit my brother, Trever, who lives in Pennsylvania. For me, nothing does the brain better than getting away and exploring another place. He showed me all of his favorite spots (including a circa-1800s prison-turned-nightclub and buildings with beautiful murals painted by the local art school, pictured above). I seemed to have brought the northeast cold with me, so layers were required, and I broke out the winter coat for the first time this season. But I have to say, walking out of the pub Friday night to flurries over garland-adorned light posts felt pretty darn festive. Thanks for a great weekend, bro!
